General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) What happens with profiles with no profile manager?

+6 votes
Recently while working on the Australian Suggestions Report (305 Mother too young or not born)  I came across a family (and descendants) where no dates for birth or death have been input.  The parents married in 1964, there are 4 children, and 3 grandchildren with profiles. In all probability they are all still alive.  The death date has been marked ''about/uncertain'' with no date; the death place has been marked "uncertain' with no place name.

Should these profiles be closed before the new privacy changes are implemented?

There are probably numerous other profiles like these (no profile manager / orphaned) that will become unlisted.

Will this cause extra profiles appearing on the Suggestions Report (data error report) that cannot be accessed to make corrections?

Do you mean should the profiles be deleted or should their privacy levels be set to Unlisted, Diane?

My preference would be to adopt such profiles so they will be accessible if they are set to Unlisted. In fact, I will adopt them now!

Hi Lindy,
I meant deleted not unlisted. I can see big problems if profiles become unlisted without a profile manager.
Thanks for your reply and thank you so much for adopting the profiles. I certainly did not want to adopt them because the children would have been born in late 1960's to 1970's and the grandchildren would probably have been born in 1990's early 2000's.

I wonder if these people are aware that profiles have been created for them? I know if it was me I would not be impressed!

Best wishes,
