I have a Andrew Glendinning born in 1859, Carlisle

His christening shows his parents as Andrew Glendinning and Mary but I can not find his parents marriage or him in 1861 and 1871 hopefully with his parents

There is a possble sister Anne born in 1850 but can not find her either in 1861

this is Andrew's christening

This one could make more sense Betty as he was registered in first quarter of 1859
Stephanie, I'm a bit confused by this question as you're asking for Andrew in the 1861 and 1871 census "hopefully with his parents", yet on the profile you linked you already have the 1871 census linked and the info it contains.

Is it just the wedding info and the 1861census that you need?  I'm not coming up with a wedding for this couple yet, I'll try and find them on the 1861 census.

Your Andrew is about 20 yrs too old or 19 yrs too young, depending which one we're looking at, and he's in Dalston, Cumberland in the 1881 census, it's already in his profile.

Can you see if the family are in Scotland for the 1861 census?  It could be why they don't show up in the English 1861... possibly! :)
Hmmm. Maybe not. They use the same names a lot.

I managed to find 1871 before I went to work and forgot to post thank you Brenda

And hopefully not to confuse things too much, but there is a 12yr old James Glendinning on the 1841 census in Wetheral.  His Father and a brother are both called Andrew and his Father was born in Scotland, but not James.

"England and Wales Census, 1841," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M73F-4C3 : 13 December 2017), James Glendinning in household of Andrew Glendinning, Wetheral, Cumberland, England; from "1841 England, Scotland and Wales census," database and images, findmypast (http://www.findmypast.com : n.d.); citing PRO HO 107, The National Archives, Kew, Surrey.

And another, slightly older James (aged 15) on the 1841 census in Kirklington, with a Father, William, bn in Scotland, again with James bn in Cumberland.

"England and Wales Census, 1841," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M73N-775 : 13 December 2017), James Glendining in household of William Glendining, Kirklinton, Cumberland, England; from "1841 England, Scotland and Wales census," database and images, findmypast (http://www.findmypast.com : n.d.); citing PRO HO 107, The National Archives, Kew, Surrey.

However, in the 1851 census there is a 20 yr old James bn in Scotland working as an unmarried Farm Servant in Brampton.

"England and Wales Census, 1851," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SG2L-8R4 : 9 November 2017), James Glendining in household of Joshua Routledge, , Cumberland, England; citing , Cumberland, England, p. 35, from "1851 England, Scotland and Wales census," database and images, findmypast (http://www.findmypast.com : n.d.); citing PRO HO 107, The National Archives of the UK, Kew, Surrey.

        Stephanie

I've tried everything I can think of to find a wedding certificate/registration for your couple but I'm coming up empty handed.  Ditto with the 1861 census, it's possible they were missed, it's possible where ever they lived was missed and it's possible that their returns were damaged and can't be scanned (I've had all three happen to me).

I have found another possible sibling though... born in Guisborough in North Yorkshire in 1857.  I would have dismissed it as a coincidence if it wasn't for a death registration for what appears to be the same chap in Carlisle in 1861:

        GLENDINNING, JOSEPH         GOODFELLOW
GRO Reference: 1856  D Quarter in GUISBROUGH  Volume 09D  Page 390

        GLENDINNING, JOSEPH         4
GRO Reference: 1861  J Quarter in CARLISLE  Volume 10B  Page 278

Hope you get it figured out eventually!
Thank you Brenda I managed to find the 1871 census which is the only one that shows his father born in scotland every other one except 1861, which I am still trying to locate shows his father born in cumberland

Just to fill out the family, his sister Mary married John Thompson in 1878 in Aikton.

Some variant spellings that might be worth trying include: Glendining, Glendenning, Glendening or Clendinning. Since he was born in Carlisle it might also be worth checking on the other side of the border for the missing census years. His parents may well have been from Scotland and could have been married there. Also, at that time in that period, if they were non-conformists they may have opted for an Irregular Border Marriage to avoid marrying in the Church of England.

There were two births registered in Carlisle in 1859, for Andrew Glendinning. Mother's maiden names were Goodfellow & Tweddle.

The family are on the 1871 census in Cumberland, and there are many more siblings to help you identify the mother's maiden name from.  Father is listed as being born in Scotland and is called James.

And all siblings were registered in either Penrith, Carlisle or Wigton with the Mother's maiden name of Goodfellow.

There are a number of Mary Goodfellow's born in Cumbria, but I can only find the one in Stapleton, Mother is Mary Goodfellow too:

"England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:J3XJ-4B7 : 11 February 2018, Mary Goodfellow, 17 Jul 1835); citing STAPLETON,CUMBERLAND,ENGLAND, index based upon data collected by the Genealogical Society of Utah, Salt Lake City; FHL microfilm 90,665.
