How do I delete a profile?

I recently added some family details about my half-brother - and just discovered he does not want them there.  How do I delete them?

Unfortunately you cannot delete the profile.

BUT you can delete the biographical details and make the profile UNLISTED - which means it wont show up on searches. And the only person who will know and can access that profile, is you!!

Later on if you can reuse that same surname, but for a different (preferably dead) person, you could change the details for someone else in your tree with the same surname - and then change the privacy so that it can be seen.

Robynne is correct, normally we do not delete profiles on WikiTree. However, if you cannot reuse the profile for another family member and the individual requests it be deleted, go to Deletion FAQs for instructions.

The other option is to leave it as is and mark his profile as unlisted. At some point in the near future, this will happen to the vast majority of all living person profiles on WikiTree, due to the GDPR impacts to sites like WikiTree.
