Don't know why they called it the War of 1812 because it lasted into 1815 in the Battle of New Orleans.
I believe it was from 1812-14 in South Carolina I have seen these years a lot but don't know
I recently read "Andrew Jackson and the Battle of New Orleans" and that action ended in early 1815. It was a very interesting read. I think that a peace agreement was completed in Europe in 1814, but the word did not get to Andrew Jackson before early 1815. If the English had won that battle, our expansion to west of the Mississippi River might have been stopped.
I believe Andrew Jackson was a good President I need to read more about him. I wish South Carolina would have keeped better records before 1790 it's going to be very hard to find my true Blackstone line I want proof that one of these men was a father or grandfather of My John Hiram Blackstone 1812-bef1850 he may be from North Carolina the thing about the Carolina mountains I don't believe some people knew where they was born if they was up in the Hills all these census that says Pickens County that was probably the closest town. Thanks for helping
The Pickens County Historical Society might be a good resource:

Thanks Frank I sent a message to them they probably going to say come in to the Library I just don't go many place at all if I do I will take pictures of everything I see like I did when I went to Jackson County on my Hooper family. I don't drive very often and my wife knows if I go somewhere like a library they have to make me leave. Lol

They may work with you over the internet. I clicked on the Wikipedia article on Pickens county to check out the cities. The city of Pickens is the county seat.

Frank they was Thomas, James, and John Blackstone in Pitt,NC at the same time Eddie King and I both agree they was probably related I'm looking for birthrates death dates marriage license anything else to go on and how far is it from Pitt, NC to Pickens,  SC my line that I know of was in Pendleton District of South Carolina Seneca and Pickens and later Hurricane Creek Township then to Piedmont / Greenville

Thanks for helping Frank Gill
Did James Blackstone Sr had a son James Blackstone Jr is this two different men's records if he was born 1740 in Pitt 1762 then in War 1812 looks like two different men's information
I see a tree by Kenny and Vickie (Humbles) Braxton's Family of Pitt County, NC ID: 13026 claiming the census 1764 Pitt County, North Carolina for James Blackstone as the record for a James Braxton 1st abt.1710 aft.1798

So if anyone See's this Please let me know if I need to changed this James Blackstone 1740 to James Braxton 1710-1798 this maybe the reason I can't find my family line is that my name maybe Braxton not Blackston or Blackstone  do we have anyone to help on this kind of information.
