Does anyone know the parents names of Henry Hacher (1692-1746) St. James Parrish, Goochland VA ?

Question

He was married to Susannah Williamson (1698- 1766). Later on down the line I did find some of the Hatchers did live or own the Varina Plantation. I am new to doing research. Help needed.

This famous and interesting surname, with a number of entries in the "Dictionary of National Biography" and over twenty-eight Coats of Arms, is a patronymic of William. According to one online site, he was the son of Benjamin Hatcher Sr. and was mentioned in his father's will of 12 Apr 1727.  The reference for this is: Genealogies of Virginia Families from Wm and Mary, Parks, Gary Indexed, (Name: Genealogical Publishing Company; Location: Baltimore, Maryland, USA; Date: 1982;), From the William and Mary College Quarterly Historical Magazine, Vol II Cobb-Hay.  Pages 870-881 = Hatcher Family. 

According to the same site, Henry died in 1771, not 1746.  Also, the name was spelled Hatcher (you show Hacher).

I suggest you try and locate a copy of that magazine and review the information on the Hatcher family.  It is available at ancestry.com if you have a subscription.  I looked at the will referenced, and Benjamin did indeed mention a son Henry.  Additionally, the will was presented by Elizabeth Hatcher at a court held at Varina in October 1728.  Benjamin's wife is shown as Elizabeth Greenhaugh.

The Hatcher Families Genealogy Association shows his parents as Henry Hatcher, Sr. (b. abt 1671, d. btw 1750-1753) and Jane, last name unknown (b. abt 1680, d. aft 1761).
