I cannot enter my town of birth.

Question

I was born in Rivière-Au-Renard but I cannot enter this name as place of birth.  It always extends it to Rivière-Au-Renard-Ouest or Fox-River. 

 

How do I add Rivière-Au-Renard as a valid location.

Gary, welcome to WikiTree and G2G forum.

At the time you are filling in the "Birth Place" field there is a yellow square banner that is shown at the top right hand side corner of the screen saying:

"You do not need to choose from the automatic place names suggestions. We aim to enter location names ..."

So enter your town of birth just the way as it is known, please include state/province and country.
