need some help determining correct birth location

This lady depending on which source is looked at comes from a location that needs to be clarified.  There are several different options, her marriage record just gave her parents's names, the parish of St-Pierre and the diocese of Langres.  My research tells me that diocese covered 3 provinces of old France.  Her age is also uncertain.  Can one of my French wizard friends take a look-see if they can narrow it down please?

Looking at the 3 locations given in Jeanne's profile, Loches at least was not at all in the diocese of Langres. And I suspect Beaune wasn't either, though it is much closer. Later Beaune was in the diocese of Dijon (created in the 1730s) but I didn't find out where it was before that.
Langres from what I can make out covered Bourgogne, which Beaune is if I have my geography straight.  Any act with the parents named in the area would confirm the location.
I don't think it is Beaune. I looked at the register for Saint-Pierre in Beaune, of course the years between 1648 and 1659 are missing (typical) but the index of the years 1645-1648 does not show any Amiots, perhaps one "Gille Amyot" but I can't find the record. It's like 30 pages for just one year and very hard to read.

I don' t think it is Losne either because the Losne church is consecrated to Notre-Dame, not Saint-Pierre.
There were Amiots baptised in Saint-Pierre of Langres and also in Châteauvillain (the parish is Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul) in the 1650s, so both these places are possibility. The name Vivienne or Vivien is absent in these places though. The Saint-Pierre church in Langres was destroyed during the Revolution.
oh lovely.  Sigh, another bunch of records gone up in smoke.
The records survived, but apparently, only from 1668 on :(
Any possibility in Franche-Comté?  Also part of Langres diocese back then per Wikipedia.  The diocese covered that, Bourgogne and Champagne.

Any funeral for the wife of Noël Amiot/Amyot anywhere?  She is listed as deceased when Jeanne marries.

Other than that, guess I add this to all the other marriage contracts I want to look up in archives, notaries were often more verbose.  Got to get down there soon.

The former provinces of Champagne, Bourgogne and Franche-Comté put together would form a really huge territory. And Franche-Comté only became part of France in 1678. But yes, there are Saint-Pierre churches in Franche-Comté, some very famous.

The Cercle Généalogie du 52 has a handy research tool - you can try it and see the results for the name Amiot. I had no luck with a burial for either of Jeanne's parents, but the possibilities are so numerous, it's a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Still. I would narrow it down to the current departements of Haute-Marne (perhaps not the North of it), Côte-d'Or and part of Aube.

Will see if I can find the contract, I know which notary already and date, maybe I get more joy from it.  Needle in a haystack is right for that link, although I bookmarked it, can get back to it after I have more data (hopefully).  Thanks.

Well, that was a bust, the notarial acts are now online for Romain Becquet, found hers, says exactly the same thing, parish of St-Pierre, diocese of Langres.  frown

I think this is confusion of the name of the church or parish with the names of the cities.

The only St Peter any where close to Langres is St-Pierre-St-Paul - Châteauvillain

The diocese is Langres. it covers a large area.

Yes, it could be any place with a church consecrated to Saint-Pierre in the old diocese. And they can be hard to find - several of them were destroyed or disaffected during the Revolution.
