Teacher at this school for about 38 (years). Born in London A(nno).D(omini). 24 Jan (8 days before Feb 1) 1614 where he was said to have been educated in the school of Christs Hospital. He was added to the academicians of the Emmanuel College at the University of Cambridge the day before the ides (the 12th) of January 1632. He asked for land (???) in 1637 (he came to America in 1637). Leading this school starting 8 days before the ides (the 5th) of January 1670. He died 19 Aug (12 days before Sep 1) 1708 having lived 94 years.
Cotton Mather, grateful student, attributed to him all of New England's education.
