I added new magic word to search for profiles. isLiving You can use it in combination with any other word like

Added 4 new suggestions for open profiles without any date

In Privacy group added 4 new suggestions.

  • 118 Still living in Death Location status with death date
  • 119 Still living in Death Location status with death location
  • 120 Still living with death date
  • 121 Still living with death location

They identify profiles, that have colliding data defining living status of a person.

The magic word isLiving is great. Is there a list of other search terms like this that we can use? I have wished for  something like isOpen for some time.

Here is the list of all magic words. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:WikiTree_Plus#Text_search

Privacy is not part of the list, since it is very obvious from the result and there is 12345778 of them. And that is quite a burden for the server to index that. I did think about it in the past, and decided, that it is not really needed, but I can be convinced otherwise.
Thanks for the link to the list. It makes sense to not index open given the burden on the server.

FYI - An example use case is doing a search and copying everything to Google Sheets. The formatting works better there than in Excel, especially regarding notes, but I am losing the privacy icons. Copying to a spreadsheet is useful because it allows sorting and filtering of results. I can also restructure the birth/death date to be in their own cells (for sorting). I have done this a few times for specific interests. It isn't a problem to go to a profile and see that it is green.

This is a compiled example showing open, public, private with public, and private.note the color of the lock.

Yes, thank you.  I was hoping for something that could be used in a search to reduce my results.  Or hoping for a way to include this information when I copy to google sheets. If instead of an image this was text it would be better for my google sheet purpose (it would then be sortable and filterable). Or if there was a way to export the results from WikiTree+ to csv that would retain this information.  However,  as I mentioned above,  the reason it isn't indexed is very reasonable and I can just continue doing what I have been doing.
Are you moving to excel suggestions or search results?

I could prepare a file for excel to open directly with more columns. In HTML results we are limited with screen width.
I have done this for both search results and suggestions. However, I have primarily done this with search results. For example, searching "Iowa Netherlands" to improve sourcing for Dutch immigrants to Iowa, because the profiles range from well sourced to profiles that have not been touched in a long ago GEDCOM upload. These were not coming up as errors and were not marked as unsourced, but needed some attention. (And in this regard, last update date of the profile would be super helpful! but that is probably asking for a lot).

The lock graphic actually is not the most helpful in Excel (or Google sheets, if it came with copy/paste), because I can't sort or filter. In this case Open/not open would be adequate - it would not necessarily need the further detail of public/private/unlisted.
a 3 letter designation would work very well. OPN, PUB, PBT, PFT, PBG, and PVT. or something similar. Open, Public, 3 partially public, and a private.

A second option that would work is a level designation of privacy. that could be from 0-5 or 1-6.

Personally, the open lock always looked like a nun to me. LOL

I definitely like the file idea though.
