With the new GDPR requirements, and the upcoming deletion of all (non-parent-managed) kids.  What is the plan on deleting these profiles. How will it be established what profiles should be deleted and which not?  In my case I'm the manager for my two grandchildren AND their mother, with her blessing and full support.

Hi Izak,

We will be deleting the profiles next week.

Unless your daughter has an active account, the profiles of your grandchildren will be deleted. I know it seems unfair and unnecessary, but having the parent check the box to accept our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy is the only way we can record the parental permission. Otherwise we are just taking your word for it that you have her blessing and full support. That's what we have done in the past, but it's not enough for GDPR compliance.

By the way, I hate to mention this here, but we are still considering whether we need to make the age 16 instead of 13. Strictly speaking for GDPR compliance it appears to the lawyers that it should be 16.

Hi Izak.

You just need to set your daughter (their mother) as the Profile Manager of your grandchildren's profiles.

To have your daughter as a WikiTree member is very easy, just send her an invitation by adding an e-mail address to their profile:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Invitations#Inviting_Family_Members

There is no big commitment in accepting your invitation, please see here:

I hope this helps to keep all the leaves of your family tree in WikiTree !

Thanks for the feedback guys.  I've been thinking......

If I set the birth date of the little ones to "after 2001"....which effectively is true, how will you pick up that they are below 16?

We probably wouldn't, but that would be considered hacking the system, so please don't do that :)
