Could someone look at the death certificate I have for Latimer-1119

I have found no indication until this point that Latimer was not Alice's maiden name, On the death certificate I can not tell what it says for name of town. I also wanted to make sure that it said her father's name was Carter and what it said was her Mother's  name

Thank You for any help you might give on this

I can see that the father's name is C. A. Carter at No. 10 on the Death Certificate.

Here are other possible interpretations:

Line 9 - Van Buren County, Iowa [birthplace of Alice Bell]

Line 11 - can't read town [of father's birth] but state is Virginia

Line 12 - mother's name: Martha E. and could be Kirving or Kerving, or Kerwing or Kirwing.

Hope this helps.

I think the father's county of birth could be Bath Allegheny.

It looks like two words Bath All..(perhaps shortend from Allegheny)

Allegheny was created from Bath in 1822 so they a adjacent.  Just a guess.

Do you mean her birth place? Vanburen County, Iowa.

And yes, her father's name is Carter.  Mother's - not so sure.  But how about Martha E King?  Look for a marriage between C. A. Carter and a Martha E...

The mother is Martha King.

I think the mother's surname may be Kirby. It looks to me that many of the upward-looping letters have ink gaps.
(Late to the party, yet again!)
The mother's name IS Kirby.  If you expand the view up high enough, you can see the upper loop of the b quite clearly.  :)
