Hi guys! I know it's me back again with the Rice Whitaker/Giles Whitaker rats nest. I was literally scanning image by image the 1831 (Claiborne Co.) Tennessee Wills and Probate and found this. I can't quite read the entire entry on the bottom left of the left page. I uploaded a .jpg to Whitaker-1290 Could someone please read this for me? If it is what I think it is, it's not proof of relationship.

"With leave of the court Rice W Whiteaker was admited to administer on all & singular the goods and chattels [illegible] of Giles Whiteaker decd gave bond & security and was qualified as the law directs."

Does this indicate any relationship? Especially that Rice was the son of Giles? In average circumstance, of course.
It does not imply any particular relationship.  Usually the administrator/executor is a close relative, but the appointment does not prove anything.
