I love the picture. home grown chickens were sure a staple of the family meals. Takes us back to a simpler but much harder day. It was much harder work but you didn't have to go to the store to get the best tasting food. Thanks for sharing your photo with us.

The little girl squatting down is my older sister Genia.  I believe she is crying because she was the sensitive one of our family.  She had a pet rooster named John Henry, I will post it someday when it turns up in this mountain of genealogical records.  I just wish that I had discovered WikiTree twenty or forty years earlier.
