Is the biography on a merged profile gone forever? [closed]

I was manager of a profile Van-9999 which in the light of newly discovered information could be seen to be a clear duplicate of Van-1000, so I proposed a merge. The manager of Van-1000, not by design, completed the merge without moving any of the stuff in the biography of Van-9999 into the merged profile. I am now a manager of the merged profile, but the Changes log does not show any of the edits I made to Van-9999, which included an inline image, a transcription and several source references. Do I now have to reconstruct all of it?

The answer turned up in one of the Related Questions.

You can see the missing parents, by going to changes tab for new profile and click on Doe-200 in the merge change line. This will open that profile - now click on the "edited the data" description on the top line of changes for Doe-200, which will open the details for the items that were originally on Doe-200, including the missing parents. Does that make sense?

I have starred that reply by Patricia Roche in the original question.
