He was born in Reading, PA in Apr 1920 and died in Santa Monica, CA in Nov of 1998. He's an Army veteran and had 2 children with my grandmother and a third child with my step-grandmother. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Here's his social security death index at familysearch.org:

"United States Social Security Death Index," database, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:J2QT-L2V : 20 May 2014), John A Snyder, 10 Nov 1998; citing U.S. Social Security Administration, Death Master File, database (Alexandria, Virginia: National Technical Information Service, ongoing).

Maybe???

"United States Census, 1930," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XCZL-S1K : accessed 22 May 2018), John A Snyder in household of John M Stanner, Reading, Berks, Pennsylvania, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) ED 3, sheet 5B, line 69, family 106, NARA microfilm publication T626 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 2002), roll 2000; FHL microfilm 2,341,734.

If I'm right about 1930, here's his parents and siblings in 1920 (8 Jan - before John was born):

"United States Census, 1920," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M61N-91G : accessed 22 May 2018), Florence S Snyder in household of Robert J Snyder, Reading Ward 17, Berks, Pennsylvania, United States; citing ED 127, sheet 6A, line 37, family 121, NARA microfilm publication T625 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1992), roll 1537; FHL microfilm 1,821,537.

I think you may be on to something!! Thank you!!! My grandpa's brother's name was Bob and he had a sister naked Pauline if I remember correctly. I barely remember them but I never knew Uncle Bob's middle name, or the fact that he may have been a junior. Either way, there's an awful lot of similarities for me to investigate further.
I can't thank you enough!!
My pleasure!
