Hi Rod, I just joined and am learning how the site works.  I have access to a family tree on Ancestry that I'm trying to import into Wikitree.  My 2nd great uncle John Galen Hilden had two children, John Galen and Ardelle Elizabeth, that were born in the 1920s in Reeder, ND.  Do you have information on them?  Joel

Hi Joel -

My Paternal Grandfather (Ole G. Hilden) was the 2nd of 12 children born to Gilbert & Kari Hilden on Feb 5th, 1880, and died on Dec 25th, 1968.  

Their 10th child was John Galen Hilden born on May 8, 1896, and died Sept 8th, 1982.  He liked to be called “Johnny”, and he married Alice Halverson on Jun 27, 1920.  Johnny & Alice had two children.  Galen was born on June 17, 1922 and Ardelle was born on July 31, 1926.

I met Johnny & Alice several times at various family functions in Olympia, Washington where my Paternal Grandparents (Ole & Gelina Hilden) lived.  Unfortunately, I don’t recall much about either Galen or Ardelle, as I believe they were starting their own families in other geographic locations.

May also have a couple of old pictures around here somewhere in our files, if you’re interested?

I just started using WikiTree. While perusing the different ways of using this site I found this post, also questions from Joel Hilden. My fathers name is Gary K. Hilden from Reeder ND and his Great Grandfather was Gulbrand (Gilbert) Hilden. I have studied this family from when they immigrated from Norway. As a child,I visited the farm homesteaded by Ole Hilden for many many holidays. I would gladly communicate the abundant family data.
