Hi everyone, I am researching my Swedish family in Jönköping and I need to get more Source information for their profiles.
Where are good places to to find records?
Thanx in advance

Depends on what you are looking for, at which time.

FamilySearch is OK for initial searches, although transcribed birth records ofthe have "surnames" of women wrong, giving them -son names when they should have -dotter names.

Swedish church records are available free of charge in the Digital Research Room at Riksarkivet. Those are scans of the original records, so very good as sources - although not always so easy to fing your way in.

Also Folkräkningar at Riksarkivet may be of use to you.

I have written a bit about it here in WikiTree  - there's a link to the actual search site on the page.

The birth record for Jenny Amalia Sahlström is here: https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0022105_00117
Thank you so much for the links Eva, they will be most helpful
Wow thank you so much for the link, you know about Jenny? clearly you know your stuff. I am sure with the info you have given me I will be able to find all the records that I require
I was curious who you were asking about so I went back to your tree and saw where the Swedish part was :-)

Not sure why I picked Jenny - but I had some difficulty finding her in the records. For some reason I expected her to be born in Jönköping Sofia, not in Jönköping Kristine. I think farmers in rural parishes are easier to follow than townsfolk, like these were.

I have a subscription to the research part of MyHeritage, which helped some, in this case.
Thanx for the Explanation Eva, so I take it you saw the document that is on their profiles? That is the only Source I have at the moment. It was sent to me by a family member in Sweden who is still living. This family member is Reimer-579, and has been out to visit the family here in South Africa. Is this document some kind of Census record? Sure looks like it. It has the entire family on it including my Granfather.

apparently my family own or manage the Lion match factory in Sweden
The document looks like the output from some Swedish genealogy software. Very neat and orderly, but not showing a lot of the sources it must be based on. It does look reliable, though.

I saw one reference to SVAR at the bottom of page 18, a birth record for Gustaf Lundin. SVAR is the same thing as Riksarkivet, I usually call it Riksarkivet SVAR, but noticed the other day that they don't seem to be using it themselves any longer.
Thank you Eva, I will begin my research in order to expand on that document

You might find some useful stuff in the WikiTree category "Sweden Genealogy Resources" as well.
