Is there an appropriate way to add document images to a person's profile?

One of the things I was considering adding is images of source documents (such as census records, birth/death/marriage certificates).  Is there a way to do this besides adding them as individual pictures?  I guess my expectation would be that they could be added as sources instead of pictures.

Thanks.

Hi Tony,

Adding them as images is correct, if you want to scan them (I often do, if there's anything graphically interesting). You'd also want to list them as sources in the text. The reference is what's more important for precision of research. You could argue that a picture is better proof than words, but the words can point to an independently verifiable source.

Right now, I have all of my documents scanned and uploaded to my Flickr account, and have provided links to them in my sources section. However, if there is a better or a more preferred method, I would like to know as well. :-)
