If there are unlisted profiles in a family tree, will the family tree show them as unlisted, or will the tree stop at that point, and show no more ancestors on that line?

Hi George,

If you're on the Trusted List of the Unlisted profile you won't notice any difference at all.

If you're not on the TL, you will see "[private mother]" or "[private father]" in their position on the tree, like this: https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Example-Family-Tree-33

The tree will not stop, it just won't show the information for the Unlisted person.

I believe what happens is that the profiles that the tree is listed until you hit the branches that are unlisted. Now what you can do is ask the owner of a profile you are looking for to lessen the privacy so you can see what is there. Hope that helps.

But what about profiles that have become unlisted because of the GDPR?

If it is a profile you did, you can fix that by selecting the privacy settings yourself.

You can no longer assign less than Unlisted for a living person who is not a member of WikiTree. I just tried with my brother and got the message "A living non-member can only be Unlisted"
