I am getting on and have a lot of information and old pictures I would like to share, mostly about the decedents of Charles Baum I family of Vermillion County, Illinois dating from Charles' immigration from Wurttemberg, Germany to Bucks County, Penn. arriving at Philadelphia 10/27/1764 on the boat "Hero", Ralph Forster, Master. This information and much more ending in 1919 is contained in a Family History compiled by a Baum around the 1920s. It passed from my grandmother (1875-1952) to my father (1904-1976) to me. It includes family names of Moyer, Weaver, Stewart, Rice, Rawlings, Hunt, Smith, Varner, Gilkey, Keath, Moore, Fisher and dozens more, but stays mainly with Baum. The only members of my family that I knew were my father and his mother, as he was born out of wedlock and moved away from Illinois as an adult. I did briefly meet Gardiner Ray Smith when he visited his uncle in L.A. in the '50s. His mother was my great aunt, Marguerite Baum Smith. The author of this "Family Biography" was the son of Gideon T. Baum, and spent quite a bit of time in the early 1900s interviewing relatives and others that could flesh out the names and dates with personal stories, as well as on-site recording of information in Illinois and Penn.
So--where do I go from here?
