relationship finder -- "endogamy" dropdown gone?

Hi, I don't know if it is me, or what, but the ability to discover multiple descents from a single ancestor (via a dropdown) appears to have been removed.

Assuming I'm not just missing something obvious... I'm bummed... why would that feature be removed? It was a helpful way to explore relationships and to recall who is related to whom in one's ancestry.

If it was taken away with intent, can it please be restored?

Cheers.

Daphne, are you perhaps looking for the descendants list  which is found by selecting the ʻFamily Tree and Toolsʻ tab? After getting to the new page, scroll down to Descendants List - I hope that is what you need.
Try scrolling down the page a bit, Daphne.

You should see a yellow/orange bordered section to the left under the green-bordered section in which the relationship trails are displayed.

I think you mean the box on Special:Relationship results that listed all the common ancestors found.

If the folks you're comparing are within 15 generations, that's all you'll get (and usually just the one, with no box full of other common ancestors).

On [Help:Relationship Finder], it talks about selecting how many generations to look, giving the following URL that you can use as a "go-by":

https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:Relationship&action=calculate&person1_name=Washington-11&person2_name=Lincoln-103&gen=12

Replace Washington-11 & Lincoln-103 with the WikiTree IDs of the people you want to compare & replace 12 with the number of generations (up to 30) that you want WikiTree to check.

Cheers, Liz

The drop-down to show alternative common ancestors doesn't appear if there's only one common ancestor.

There's never been any way to see alternative descents from the same ancestor.

Thank you all for your replies.

I think RJ nailed it.... we can't see multiple descents from a single direct ancestor, but we can see alternative relationships to cousins.
