Looking for the correct name of the wife of Pehr Brandell (1744 - 1800).

Geni has her listed as Catharina Danielsdotter, born August 4, 1748 in Svensbyn, Piteå, Norrbotten, Norrbotten, Sweden.  Daughter of Daniel Olofsson and Britta Stina Kristina Hansdotter.

https://www.geni.com/people/Catharina-Danielsdotter/4308171757570029005

While Family Search has her listed as Karin Olofdotter, 4 August 1748 – 21 March 1820.   Daughter of Olof Nilsson and Elsa Augistensdotter.

https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/KH3F-HTZ

And Geneanet has her listed as Katarina Olofsdotter, Born 4 August 1748 - Svensbyn, Piteå, Ruotsi.  With no parents listed.

https://gw.geneanet.org/rsavola?lang=en&pz=alfhild+theresia&nz=burman&ocz=0&p=katarina&n=olofsdotter&oc=6

Then of course on ancestry there are a few member trees that list his wife as Catharina Olofsdotter.

In the birth record of daughter Elsa the wife of tailor Pehr Brandell is Catrina Olsdotter (abbreviated as Olsdr) Piteå landsförsamlings kyrkoarkiv, Födelse- och dopböcker, SE/HLA/1010154/C I/4 (1764-1782), bildid: C0035051_00241.

Their marriage should be in the same book if you browse back in time. The book seems to have births on the lefthand side, marriages in the narrow column on the righthand side and deaths in the broader column on the righthand side, keeping all events in parallell.

Olofsdotter and Olsdotter is the same thing. Karin and Katarina is the same name, may be spelled with a C or a K and with or without an 'h' in various places. Spellings weren't standardized, and the people themselves had no preferred spellings, they usually could read the bible but they couldn't write.

4 August 1748 the girl who was born was Karin Olofsdotter (again abbreviated as Olofs dr). (Abbreviations shouldn't be used in name fields) Piteå landsförsamlings kyrkoarkiv, Födelse- och dopböcker, SE/HLA/1010154/C I/2 (1714-1756), bildid: C0035049_00173.

Her father was Olof Nilsson, the mother Elsa. Patronyms of mothers aren't mentioned; the next line starts with "vittnen" (Christening witnesses). The place should be Svensbyn, I don't think there is another S-byn in Piteå.

Great, I had found my way back to this profile and had the same question.  I have now removed the extra set of parents from the Geni profile of Karin Olofsdotter and will get some of her ancestors entered into the WikiTree!

(Parents removed were Daniel Olofsson and Britta Stina Kristina Hansdotter https://www.geni.com/people/Daniel-Olofsson/6000000008468360360)
