Changing profile and sourcing formatting.

Wikitree encourages colloboration and I'm always thrilled when other members edit profiles I have created, especially when they add new information and sources.

Recently, another member has edited a number of profiles, completely changing my quite narrative format to one with subheadings. He has also changed the formatting of sources removing the tidy link to the main sources. Nothing substantial has been added in most cases except day and month for dates.

I will go back and add in the source links again. What I'm really asking is, if the profile looks tidy, please try to add other information in the style of the profile already created, especially if some care has been taken in creating the profile initially and if the profile manager is active.

Fiona, I hope you know about the revert function under Changes.
It might be a good idea to communicate directly with the member who has been changing your profiles and explain your feelings to reduce the risk that  this could turn into a string of changes being reversed.
Thanks, Jillaine and Lynda. I do know how to revert, though it's a bit more complicated than that for some of the profiles. There is a distant family link and I had adopted profiles, connected up a few twigs, found a lot of sources and built the profiles. I'm annoyed as the format didn't need changing and the amendments could have been made without altering the whole formatting of the profile. I think I'll just fix the two profiles that matter and orphan the rest. I assume the changes were made in good faith, and I'll let the other member know I've orphaned them. He can then use the format he wants.
Reverting people's work just because "it's my profile and I was happy with the way it was" seems like another step on the road to Profile Ownership - unless we've already arrived.
I think I've made it very clear that they were not "my" profiles and I am happy that profiles are improved by adding further information. I will merely re-do the sourcing so that world-wide members can find sources by clicking on a link, instead of wondering what a vague abbreviation means. RC, unnecessary format changes to suit another member's personal taste  which remove more accurate sourcing just seem pointless.
