Looking for name of father of May/Mae (Lang) Paine, B. 1890 New York, Mother Lucy

I can't seem to find the name of Mae/May's father anywhere. And I really have only managed to find 4 sources that I am sure are associated with her.

NOTE: I did find her in the 1900 Census with her mother Lucy, though Lucy is noted as the "Head" and there is no mention of the father. Lucy is still noted as married, though. I couldnot seem to find them in the 1892 New York State Census, either, though this family does have the habit of bouncing back and forth between Canada and the US sometimes.

- I do have the certificate number for Mae/May's marriage record. The index did not mention parents names - would the full certificate of this list the parent's names or is it possible to find the father's name without having to pay extra for something?

Here are the sources I have found so far:

I know! I have no idea. It is driving me nuts, too! lol.

She is also noted as Head of Household despite being listed as Married.

I think I also tried looking for a Lucy marrying someone with the surname Lang in the year she noted that they were married (1887), but I couldn't find anything in the New York marriage index. But this my not be a complete index. Also it is feasible they could have gotten married in Ontario, Canada since it says Lucy is from Canada.

May/Mae (Lang) Paine died in Florida - I have her Find a Grave - but could not find her death index ... not that the Florida ones seem to list name of parents in the index.

I reached out to the Buffalo city clerk in charge of genealogy records to see if they still will require me to provide proof of death to obtain a copy of the marriage record for May/Mae Lang and Lyle Paine, since both were born in 1890 and are unlikely to still be alive anyhow. No response yet.
