my "stuck spot" for the past 6 months Byrd/Bird ancestors, Kentucky

I'm reaching out in hope that someone more knowledgeable can help me with the research.

Here's my "stuck" spot that I've been working on since December.

I have collected some more clues (via DNA matching with a distant Byrd Relative on 23andme)

My theory is that Joshua Byrd https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bird-6246 was a child of :

J. Frank Bird (Francis Marion)(approx. 1797-1850) and Ruhader (aka Rebecca) Scamerhorn (d. 1823)

Problem is I dont have any citations - just a common match on my 16th chromosome and a guess based on DNA and the timelines on my family tree.

I know that Joshua's son, Jesse Thurman Byrd, was born in Washington Co. Kentucky, so there might be more records in central Kentucky for this family that I've not been able to locate.

If this is your Joshua ( born in Kentucky)  he shows up in a Missouri census with his wife, see cite:

"United States Census, 1870," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M46B-9JJ : 12 April 2016), Joshua Bird, Missouri, United States; citing p. 10, family 74, NARA microfilm publication M593 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.); FHL microfilm 552,294.

Yes, that's the same Joshua Bird/Byrd who traveled out of Kentucky with his wife, Elizabeth and his adult son Jesse Thurman Byrd.

I am trying to find a link back to Joshua's parents.
Joshua Bird & Drusilla Ash (Prince William Co., VA/Nelson Co. KY) begot:

the Nelson Co., KY Birds

Francis Bird (married Rhoda Schamerhorn) who begot:

Mary "Polly" Bird (married Dorman Cheser)

Joshua Merritt Bird (married Elizabeth Cheatham)

John Owen Bird (married Permelia Hardin)

Rhoda died between 1823-1828. Francis remarried Mary Hines and started a new line.

Washington County, was originally Nelson County,It seperated in 1792.

Kentucky was formed from part of Virginia. So if your looking for a person

1792 or earlier,They may be in Nelson County, not Washington.

Tennessee is same way, when formed, ohio donated land.

Ah, I see. I had to ponder this to understand it.

Could this be that my Joshua Bird's father was also Joshua Bird?
I think Elizabeth Osborne is not his mother.

my wiki tree Joshua Bird was born in 1812/1813 (exact date unknown) but the couple above didn't marry until 1822 and their son named Joshua Bird was born in 1852.
