i think it would improve the state of the nation if Pre-1500 profiles were all allocated a certified manager or had all uncertified managers removed.

Good suggestion.

Am hoping for something along those lines myself, having spent the last month working toward getting the pre-1500 Irish profiles under control; now almost there and itching to tidy the weird and wonderful LNABs concocted for many of them by their original PMs; most of whom have long since gone to ground and the remainder largely under qualified for the job.

Apart from non-certified persons who are already profile managers, an even greater mystery is why persons who are not able to edit a pre-1500 profile are able to adopt an orphaned pre-1500 profile.

I will currently adopt all pre-500 orphaned profiles that I see, and many other pre-1500 orphaned profiles in which I have only a passing interest, purely to protect them from persons who are unable to edit them.

I'm hoping that project management of profiles will be something of a stop-gap to address this problem, and after doing some editing on a pre-1500 profile that I don't want a long term involvement with, will ask a project to take over management of it.

I officially proposed this on 22 Feb, but it was turned down, despite getting unanimous G2G votes:

Chalk and cheese.

I am sure my proposal will be adopted.

I don't see the point of flagging uncertified pre-1500 managers. They cannot damage nor edit the profiles. They only get a feed and they obviously want to be there. At least there is someone who can shout if something happens out of the ordinary. I don't see so many people who wants to be on the feeds for these profiles anyway.

I am just hoping for the ability to correct name fields, particularly the LNAB where the PM hasn't properly understood the source being followed and entered a place name or clan name in a name field, or jumbled languages among the various name fields.  One cannot correct a LNAB without being profile manager, resulting in some profiles with non-active PMs looking decidedly ragged.

I can imagine their frustration. The only way is for a certified member to apply to become a PM. Maybe that process could be streamlined. It is not like we are dealing with unresponsive managers. Why can't certified pre 1500 members not add themselves to pre 1500 profiles like some leaders  have the ability to do?
