I have a James Phillips born in PA. in 1787. Suppossed to be of Welsh decent.

My James left home at 17 and ended up in Ky. where he then traveled with the Stacey Applegate and Mary McClayne Applegate family to Mo. and married their daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) Applegate. Need help finding his parents. This is my brick wall.

Many Welsh familes lived in Chester County and settled towns west of Philadelphia - Bryn Mawr, Bala Cynwyd, Uwchlan, etc.  You might try searching for your ancestor there.  Many of the Welsh immigrants were Quakers, so Quaker records from that area might have a clue.
