Did William Barnhart Have middle initial,Did he later marry a Lena Jones.??
Merrick is his Grandson,he is son of his son William.
Hey there! I do not have a positive middle foor William and maybe even William is his middle name?  I dont have any info on a second marr, but its worth a check. Maybe it can fit in elsewhere in the puzzle and help sort that out!
Thank you for that. For some reason, I thought that Merrick was also a grandson. Im not seeing that in my records though so maybe that was tripping me up some. I really appreciate your help, too.

Right, Thanks Wayne.  15 yrs and cant bust him back to his folks. Ive also done the CT/ PA controversies. Im trying to come in at a diff angle. Ive considered that if Mary Ellen was his mother, (1st dau trad), It could help clue me in as to his parents.   Harrison is correct. Do you have any insight on the Merrick, Merrill son? I use the Merrick to research. An unusual name. Thanks.

John has a find a grave memorial, which includes his death certificate, seen here:  https://images.findagrave.com/photos/2017/243/91581408_1504297546.jpg

I am interested in the Lucas family, as that is also my "brick wall."  I have been finding source documents, recently, as the records of the Mennonites are now being digitized and published online.  I will search for more records for Mariah.

My search has led me through a myriad of census records with many variations of the spelling of the family names. Windham, Pennsylvania is located in the farthest NW corner of Wyoming county, and borders with Bradford county.  There, the Lucas family (also spelled Luce) married with the Barnhardt family (also spelled Barnhart) and the Wendel family (also spelled Wendell, Wandell, Wandall, and Wandale)

Take a look at the descendants of John Gilderoy Wendell  https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Wendell-Descendants-394

You will see that his son Ruben has a daughter Martha, who married John Barnhardt and that his son Major married Mary Ellen Barnhart.  John and Mary Ellen are both children of Son of William Barnhardt and Mariah (Lucas) Barndhardt  (aka Barnhart)

Hi- Thanks Janne,

Yes this is my Lucas line also. I have some records Ive been sorting out for Mariahs parents, grandparents. An Ellen Lucas (1/4 Lucas sisters) married John Wandell. I dont think it was our Mary Barnhart that marr. our Major born 1846. and the 1815 seems too old.  An Alex Wandell supposedly marr a Lucas, Sarah. LOL Lots of sorting!! This is a pre colonial family. Ive got a couple of  trees at different places. Slowly--lol, my goal is creating a complete and accurate tree here on WIKI.

Why Mennonite? I was leaning towards Hicksite Quakers.
