I have info on a particular serviceman who died and I would like to post the info from www.VirtualWall.org as documentation.  Is it OK to do so?

Facts cannot be copyrighted in the U.S. (source), so you can always post facts about an individual here.  If the information you use comes from VirtualWall, you should provide a citation to it.  Citation examples are provided on their site here:  http://www.virtualwall.org/docs/copyright.htm

VirtualWall has posted copyright information on their site here and here.  On the first link, they state, '"Fair Use" provisions of copyright law allow you to copy small excerpts of personal memorial pages without permission.'  To use larger amounts of copyrighted material, they state:

Can I get permission to use The Virtual Wall's copyrighted material? MAYBE. Permission MAY be granted (or denied) depending on the intended use of the material. E-mail the Webmaster  specifying exactly what material is requested, citing the source page(s) as well as the specific material, and what you want to do with it. If permission is granted, you will be required to include attribution to www.VirtualWall.org and a "Used with permission" caveat.

It says "All text and photographs on The Virtual Wall are protected by US Copyright law. "

Does that mean it's OK to upload photos from The Virtual Wall to WikiTree profiles as long as they are attributed?
I suspect that they would be fine with it, but I would ask them.
Thanks. Not me doing it.
