Challenge of the Week: Clean-up as many merged profiles as possible [closed]

Hi WikiTreers,

Will you join our "Data Doctors" Challenge of the week?

This one is a reprise of one of the most popular and valuable challenges we've done so far: cleaning up messy merged-together profiles.

Aleš has prepared a report of profiles from around the tree that were merged but never had their biographies and sources consolidated. Click here for the list.

Click here for tips on how the biographies and sources section should look. Most importantly, all profiles should have one and only one == Biography == headline and one == Sources == section with one <references /> tag directly beneath it.

After you delete the junk and consolidate any useful biographical text and sources, set the status as corrected. That will earn you a point.

The member with the most points at 11:59pm EDT on Sunday night will get the badge and the bragging rights. But we'll all benefit from a neater, cleaner shared tree.

If you're participating, please post here to let us know. It's nice to cheer each other on. Or post if you have any questions about how to participate.

Thanks for helping!

Sheet seems to work just fine. If you aren't doing ALL of a certain area, just document on the bottom of the sheet where you are working. Like Linda Barnett.

I see the top ten list so I wonder, is this cumulative or just for this week? Based on some of those numbers, it can't be for the week. Also, would someone please explain the chart eg. what "Line" and "NR" mean?

I'll be working on France this week as a break from real life. Nothing like cleaning 811s to soothe one's mind (everything nice and tidy and in order!)

Go Emma, sending good vibes your way (hopefully!)
Merci beaucoup Isabelle! J'ai complété vingt-cinq profiles. C'est quelque chose. Shrugs  :-)

I will try to clean up some ancestors who appear on suggestions for relatives. I might not be able to find good sources on all of them, but can at least organize what is there.

A couple of them were born in the late 1600s, so might have to ask about projects.

When I clicked on the link I got an error message "page not found."  ????
Use https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/DBE_ErrorList_Challenge_47_811 . The link from the G2G message is coming up as a 404 page not found message for me too.

I'll do some too.  I think I"ll work on my suggestion list to start, and go from there.

I, too, will do some.  I'll tackle my usual hotspot of 19th c. Iowa and neighbors.

I'm in. I'll work on Massachusetts profiles. (I'm easily distracted and should *really* be working on my own stuff, but...)

Tomorrow is supposed to be a rainy day—so no gardening. That means I'll be available to chip away at those 811s in Wisconsin.

I'll work on some Scottish ones :-)  I've been chipping away at the Scottish 131s when I've had time over the last few weeks, but they can be very time consuming so this'll be a pleasant change.
