You cannot just find a gedcom and "add it to your profile" and hope that this creates your tree.

Wikitree does not work that way. You have to go through each and every person and compare them to wikitree profiles and decide if they are already on wikitree or not.

If you mean how to connect to profiles already on wikitree, you need to expand your tree until you come across someone who is already on Wikitree. Then instead of adding a new person, you connect that person by going to edit, add [whichever relationship], and copying in the profile number of the person you want to connect. The profile number is below the name of a profile manager on a profile.
