Hi & Welcome to WikiTree!
Take a look at [[Help:Merging]] for details, but you might need to wait 30 days before the merge can be completed. Both profile managers should review/approve a proposed merge. You can check for merges awaiting action by you by clicking https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:BrowseMatches & then selecting "My Watchlist" (the top clickable option above the "GO" button on that page).
Once you & Kimball approve the merge, it can be completed. Or if one of you doesn't approve the merge within 30 days, it will receive default OK & anyone can complete it. (But a bad merge is one of the few things in WikiTree that can't be easily fixed, so folks are encouraged to only complete default-ok merges if they're familiar with the families, have read both profiles/comments thoroughly, and have checked for conflicts of parents/grands/gr-grands.) While I'm pretty darn sure these profiles are for the same person, I'd still like to give Kimball a chance to review it.
In the meantime, you can continue working on the profiles you already created for Charles & his wife... just try to check a bit closer for profiles that already exist before creating a new one, then work on the existing profile instead of creating a new one. That's part of the learning curve for WikiTree - the art of reviewing the slew of suggested duplicates when creating a profile. I tend to use Ctrl+f to search the list. To use Charles as an example, I'd search for Jennings and then Virginia & VA and then for 168 & 167 (your profile has his birth as about 1680) and last for 174 (your profile has his death in 1747).
Hope that helped!
Cheers, Liz
