Darlene Kerr is a Wonderful WikiTreer

Eddie King twisted my arm to add eye candy to a profile of a POW he had researched.  I suggested to him that we form a team and work on POWs as a sort of our own little project.  When I checked the category Prisoners of War, United States of America, Vietnam War, I found that we're too late - Darlene has quietly been writing the most beautiful and extensive biographies for many of them.  I think Memorial Day is the right time to turn the tables and honor Darlene for her labor of love on the Vietnam POW's.

Thank you. I didn't see this before. How nice to have people interested in the Vietnam POWs. Some of them were great "characters" in their own right and a lot of fun to be around even after their horrible war experience. We're loosing many of them now. They should be remembered. Mike McGrath (one of them & their official historian) has been kind enough to give me an actual list of those who are deceased and I work off of it. It's slow going because I try to go back a few generations with each of them if at all possible. It gives their families something to work with if they're interested in getting involved with the family tree. The presently living ones you see with profiles (with the exceptions of Biss and McCain-who I did not create-helped later, but not originally) have given permission to be on WikiTree, including my husband Michael and Mike McGrath. Mike is a font of information and has generously given us his personal drawings of the camps and other interesting items you'll see on the main page. Thank  you again for the kind words of encouragement! Happy Treeing.
