My great-great granfather’s name is Thomas Marion George. He was born in South Carolina on 20 March 1865, died in South Carolina 2 Dec 1945. On his death certificate his parents are listed as Adam George, born in Germany, and Elizabeth Mclellan, birth place unknown. My grandma always told me that he was German, and the death certificate and Census records for Thomas Marion George also confirm this. I can’t find anything on Adam and Elizabeth placing them in SC at the time Thomas Marion George was born, and I can’t find any other children. I found several German passengers named Adam George, but have no idea which one is him. There were an Adam and Elizabeth George in New York at the time Thomas was born. That’s about all I can find.
