Henrico Co, VA WD 1677-1692:456 - "whereas my loving [or perhaps "living"] husband Mr Abell Gower" sold to Edward Statton Jr on 1 Apr 1687 land in Bermuda Hundred, Henrico County, formerly belonging to George Browning, she appointed Henry Randolph of Henrico her attorney to relinquish her dower.  Signed 30 July 1687, Jane Gower, witnesses Wm Glover & Charles Bartholomew.   Henrico Co, 1 Aug 1687, by virtue of above power of attorney proved by oaths of witnesses, Henry Randolph in open court relinquished the dower of Jane Gower to Edward Stratton.
