Some time ago I created the profile for (Robert) Laurence Binyon who wrote the words that are frequently used on Remembrance Sunday and at Armistice Day ceremonies: "They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old...." I have since been trying to research his ancestry and link him into the the main tree.

One of my lines of descent is a Ford/fforde/Forde family of Staffordshire. Imagine my pleasure when I was able to establish today that some of them are descended from John Dillworth (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Dillworth-10) whose granddaughter Elizabeth Rawlinson (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Rawlinson-443) married one of 'my' Staffordshire Fords - and that John Dillworth was also one of the ancestors of Laurence Binyon through Binyon's mother Mary Dockray.

The satisfactions of family history research, and of serendipity!

Can anyone else link to ancestors or family of Laurence Binyon? It would be good to tie him in further to the main tree.

That's a wonderful profile you have created, Michael! I have included him in the new 'English Authors' subproject which has started up as an English Poet.

Thank you for your efforts!

Thank you. I have just added someone else to the English Poets category - George Crabbe (whose biography I have added to). As a poetry fan, I will look out for others to add.
