Thank you very much. Not sure if this is the correct William Rattray? I do know that he had a son, Alexander, born circa 1825 (my great grandfather), who emigrated with his wife and one year old son, William, to Victoria, Australia in 1850. He was married to Agnes Winning. I have a copy of Alexander's Victorian death certificate dated 1882, which states he was born in Abbey Paisley, Scotland and his father's name was William. There is no note of his mother's name on the certificate.

Did he perhaps immigrate somewhere ??? Have seen no children for William and Agnes.

Abbey Paisley,Renfrew ,Scotland.Keep in mind Spellings back then

were caused by most people are not educated,So cleric wrote is as

he thought what they said.So your Alexander born abt 1825 looks

Questionable.As too, were those his parents.

If the death record you have,And i see one.it only has father as William.

What was ships names he immigrated on.and exact date.

I saw another record where his father and mother are shown in Blue color.

This means some relative has added this.

Alexander Rattray, wife and child arrived Victoria, Australia, on the ship "Theodore" from Liverpool on Dec 8 1852.

Winning,mother Agnes Levingston.Reg. # 6338,Her father and mother names are in black,which suggests off of immigration cards.
