How to see what Colvilles went where

Is there a way to use my one name study and catagories to see where Colvilles from in Scotland and where they went to?  I know from working with my Argyle Illinois freespace They were mostly from Kyntre. Would a “colville immigrants from Kintyre to Illinois” category and so forth be overkill?

I hope I’m not asking too many questions here. I’m just really getting into this.

Surname db has this page of graphics: http://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Map/Colville

The Andrews Name Study found a way to incorporate the graphics from censuses into their page: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Andrews_Name_Study (see Andrews Name Distribution). I suppose we should ask the managers of the Andrews Name Study how they did that. I need to improve the Knight Name Study, myself.

I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, so I'll leave it as a comment. Hope this helps!

If you mean the surname distribution maps, they come from Ancestry.

Here is the link (I think) to ancestry.co.uk:

I was thinking of catergories but a map is actually a good idea
I'm not sure about categories at the moment.  I think they're in a bit of a turmoil while they restructure the emigration-immigration categories.
