I just finished reading a short article from "Family History Daily" on "Why You Should Stop Your Research and Reexamine Every Single Genealogy Record You Have."

I started with the profile, which had a picture of the individuals headstone on it and low and behold his wife's name was right on the headstone!  At this point in my life they call this a "Senior Moment"!!!

Family History Daily is free and has tons of wonderful articles.  Their address is https://familyhistorydaily.com

When I joined wikitree, I had a problem uploading my gedcom.  So I was forced to put in my tree, one person at a time.  I sourced as a went along.  In going back over my tree, and reexamining the sources, I discovered at least 2 errors I had made figuring out someone's parents.

I too found missing pieces by re-examination.   For example,  I had questioned the proper spelling of my gg grandfather's middle name.... was it Alan or Allen?    I have another family line with the surname Allen, so I suspected I had become confused and was using Allen as his middle name incorrectly.....  But last week I was scanning documents and noticed the deed he signed in 1910 said James Allen Hamilton.
