How do you search your own family tree?

I now have, literally thousands of entries with side links and when I only want to find a link to someone related to me I don't know how to do it.  Is there a way that is obvious?

On your profile page, in the upper right hand corner, under your name there is a drop down. If you click on "Family List" would that not give you what you are looking for?
