Question regarding merges

I have a question regarding merges.  I'm slowly trying to reconstruct the Welton family of Virginia.  And to do so, I have to merge a bunch of profiles.

One person manages a couple of them, but they appear to be completely inactive.  In fact, this person joined, adopted a bunch of profiles, including a very famous notable and after that did very little and has not signed on since may of 2016.

is there an easier way to get my merges to go through, other than proposing them and waiting the 30 days.    In fact most of the profile managers for this branch of the family I'm dealing  with are completely inactive, so getting my merges to go through has been painfully slow.

If they are one family, you could go the UPM route, and you will only have to wait the 30 days once.  That's all I can think of.
