Shared Photo: George and Annie Slade and their family

I wanted to share this family photo of my great grandfather and his family with the community. Granted, it's a fairly standard posed group photo, but I love it for the sheer number of people in my family who are pictured (and for my great uncle Hubert's smile: I can't remember ever seeing him not smiling).

Location: possibly South Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Date: Probably sometime between the spring of 1919, when Fred and Marjorie married in London, England, and April 1920 when Ethel got married in South Vancouver.

Really great pic, Greg. Can you provide the names by row?

Pip, if you click on the "Click here for the image details page" link, you can see the names (and links to the profiles).

Is that’s really cool, having someone around who could tell who was in the picture. The ones I inherited from my grandparents had IDs either in the front or the back, fortunately. But occasionally I’ll find one in my collection that makes run over to mom’s to make the ID.

One sad note: I also have a very old album with about 20 pics. My grandfather got it probably from his mother, I’m guessing. Not a single one is IDed and Grandpa had no idea who they were, “Maybe the Dameron,” he mused. “They look like them.” The names are now forever lost, but I’m keeping the album. (The Damerons were in-laws to his uncle Robert Underwood.)

Again, thanks for sharing the pic.
