Wow. Is this your father? You have a bit in common with me and my father just in the first couple lines. My dad was a radio technician in the Navy. He was an amateur radio operator and was experimenting with HAM TV in 1949. See sutherland-3769.

Love those waders. He looks very happy and loving his hobby. We went fishing a lot as a family when I was little but mostly on lakes and rivers by boat. Played on the beach for ocean fishing.

Hi Janice thank you, yes it is my father if you look at the pic in his profile, then you will see that I am the splitting image of him with the blue eyes and the bald head, very funny, I used to  sit on my hair as a teenager. Girls were jealous and know-one dare try to cut my hair, until I had to report for Millitary duty, then it was goodbye hair, (I cried) Lol. Yes My Dad loved fishing as do most of the Doust's, and those are my waders that he is wearing by the way. It is wonderful that you and the family also fished, we fish lake, river and Ocean, it is fun and very relaxing. By the way I also became an Amateur radio operator.
I am also. KB6FNS. And I used to also be almost able to sit on my hair. I did not cut it from 2nd grade until I was 27. Cut it to my shoulder blades. I felt like I had lost some of my identity.
Haha quite understandable. however now at the ripe old age of 51, if a grey hair pops out then out comes the razor. cant stand hair now, Funny how things change, but probably a lot to do with the youngsters calling me a mullet (long hair in the back and bald in the front). Quite embarasing.

I was ZS5SND but sad to say I no longer have my equipment.
I have at least one of my dad's radios and a friend hooked it up. I'm not a great ham, but I kept my license. I would do contest and 10-10. 10 meters has been dead. I have not checked in a while. I'm 60. My hair is in a pony tail most always. Hate it getting stuck around my neck
