MAYER, Luisa Paulina

Looking for the birth record of Luisa Paulina Mayer born 1897 in Zurich, Switzerland.

Any help would be appreciated. I have only found a scan from a Family Book, which shows the birth of her son, Rene, with her husband Hyppolith Nussbaumer, dated Oct 2, 1920 in Luterbach, Soluthurn.  I do not have their marriage record but I think it was earlier in the year of 1920 in Basel, Switzerland because I have a photo from the wedding day.

Thank you!

Did Find Saskatchewan Residents Index (SRI) 1800-=2012.

Philip Nussbaumer resided Moose Jaw Saskatchewan in 1984.

Found no death record.

Thank you Wayne. Philip Nussbaumer was my husband's grandfather and we knew him at the time he lived in Saskatchewan in 1984. We are hoping to find his birth record and family from before he immigrated to Canada from Switzerland, which was in 1921.

Thank you so much again,

Sandy

If you are a direct descendent you can request a "Familienschein". Prerequisite for a request for a "Familienschein" is according to the Civil Registry Ordinance (para 60) a permission by the cantonal Civil Registry Authority. As the interpretation of the Civil Registry Ordinance differs somewhat between cantons, there will also be differences in the documents required to get such a permission. It is therefore recommended as a first step to enquire what exactly is expected for such an application. It is also recommended to enquire about the fees (for both the permission, and a Familienschein), to avoid an unpleasant surprise. The address for the Canton Zürich is:

Amt für Gemeinden und berufliche Vorsorge,
Bereich Zivilstandswesen

Feldstr. 40
8004 Zürich

For Basel Land:

Justiz- Militär- und Polizeidirektion,
Zivilrechtsabteilung 1

Allee 9
4410 Liestal

For Basel Stadt:

Justizdepartement

Rittergasse 11
4010 Basel

For Solothurn:

Amt für Zivilstandswesen und Bürgerrecht

Amthaus 2
4502 Solothurn

Thank you for this response, Helmut.  Luisa Paulina Mayer was my husband's grandmother, and Philip Nussbaumer was her husband, so I will proceed to ask for "Familienschein" permission to find out more in the records.

Do applications need to be in the German language?

Thank you again,

Sandy
Most often English should be ok. I have occasionally come across an exceptionally unhelpful person but that is really rare.
