How can I delete a relationship between two people that show up as married and in fact had no relationship?

My name is Susan Potts Kimura.   Wikitree has been a frustrating experience for me because of a relationship that never existed.

Elizabeth FARNSWORTH Walker #92 should not be married to my 2nd great-grandfather, William Reid Rostron #146.  I tried to delete the relationship but wasn't successful.

Every time I get a notice "to check out your connection" it always shows the relationship through Elizabeth who is no relation.

Can someone please help edit this relationship so that it no longer exists?

Thanks tons,

Susan

So your saying that Farnsworth-1353 is not the wife of Rostron-146?

Alright they should be disconnected now if that is correct
Hi Steve,

Yes.  Farnsworth 1353 and Rostron 146 had no relationship.  They probably never even met in their lifetime.

Thanks tons for helping with this.

Susan
They still share the same children, even though they never met?

It looks like you've already deleted the connection, yesterday.

No, I tried deleting the connection but it still shows up on Elizabeth Carolyn Farnsworth.  Wiki still gives me the 22 connection thing and I get so frustrated because E.C. shows up and we are not related to her.

Thanks for taking a look at it.

OK, I think I fixed it.

I didn't see him on her profile nor her on his.  But when I went to edit his profile then she showed up.  I looked at the marriage and it the box "hide this marriage" was checked.  This is the box you click if the person is remarried and you don't want old marriages to show on the public profile.

I unchecked the box, then refreshed.  I could then see her as his wife.  I went to edit again and the box "delete this marriage" appeared and I did.  I refreshed his page again and no wife.

Now, in both of their profiles, when I click "edit" the place where spouse is shows only "add."

Elizabeth Marsh Farnsworth, Farnsworth-1353, is still the mother of all the children of William Reid Rostron, although the couple no longer show as married.

I think the problem was with Caroline Elizabeth Farnsworth Walker, Farnsworth-92, who has a different husband and child. This problem - a "hidden" marriage - seems to have been accurately solved by SJ Baty.

You may want to reconnect the proper Elizabeth Farnsworth.

Also, for the Connection Finder to catch up with the situation you need to give it some time. Connections are recalculated once per 24 hours - but I'm not sure if that goes also for connections to the anchors of the week, that may be done more seldom.

Thank you so much.  I am so excited to have that issue resolved.  It will make this so much more fun for me.
Eva, thank you for the explanation.
