The Gedye surname is interesting and sometimes difficult and frustrating to follow given the multiple spellings.

If you haven't already a Nicholas Gedye has a few family history books on the family.  They can be found on www.familysearch.org site. Under search, Books.

There is a great book on the Australian Dangars (no online copies)

This Century is Ours. 1838-1938. by A.D Fraser (1938)

The Gedye DNA..... Now thats mystrey.  I know another Gedye / Dangar tester on Ancestry but she doesn't match.  But there is a distant match to an American  descendant of John Gedye / Mary Best.  Shes a small match of 15.7 centimorgans shared across 2 DNA segments.
