CSI: Dixie (coroner's reports from SC)

+8 votes
If you're a morbid sort like myself, and/or you have ancestors from  Anderson County, Edgefield County, Greenville County, Kershaw County, Spartanburg County, and Union County, South Carolina, you will probably find this website fascinating. CSI: Dixie is putting online scans and other documentation from the coroner's reports. Natural causes, suicide, infanticide, accidents... they're all here... from Thomas Robinson, who died on my ancestor William Clyburn's property in 1847 from a fall from his horse, to poor Jane Soseby who hung herself in 1859 after not being able to endure another beating from her husband.

This is such a cool website. Thanks for sharing it. I perused the site hoping to find something on my Uncle Johnny Patterson’s murder in Greenville County but, alas, no. I’ll have to post that one separately. Thanks again, Jessica.
