The person has been posing as a family member and does not know anything about the family. All the information he has put on here is wrong. I would like it removed.

I don't see how someone would write false information about their self?

The profile you cited is the profile of another WikiTree member. If they have created a profile for one of your family members, and you disagree with some of their content, I suggest that you contact them  about it by sending a private message. Also, you could join WikiTree as a full member (you are currently only a guest member) and then submit a Trusted List request using the link you find on the Cheaney profile you are interested in (use the link embedded in the text that says "Request to join this profile's Trusted List so that you can edit.").

Do try to assume good intentions on the part of this contributor. If you become a member, you will be asked to sign our Honor Code, in which we agree that "We know mistakes are inevitable. We don't want to be afraid to make them. We assume that mistakes are unintentional when others make them and ask for the same understanding."

Thank you for your answer Ellen...I noted in a comment to another moderator that I would correct the birth year of my father in law.  my wife supplied the information i entered....her dad had a birth day and month  that was the same as my brother...I just missed the year by 1 yr exactly.

Her grandpa, is my father in law, Walter Edward Cheaney...he did not like the name Walter so he used his middle name and was known as "Ed" or Eddie".  My wife , Marlene, passed away on June 4th, 2018 and the niece Mrs Flake did not even have the decency to show up when everyone else was there. So ill remain pleasant and respectful but i bet you know what im thinking....
 not on my list

Hello Gina, Here is a link to the process for dealing with problems with members.

Linda,  this is DR Doug Gempel .  My wife passed away on June 4th, 2018.

Our niece enjoys stirring up trouble where there is none.  Her grandfather, my father in law, was giv en the name Walter Edward Cheaney,  my wife told me what to put in the fields and I did not make anything up. The only correction I'm gonna make is his date of birth, I'm exactly 1 year off, it should be 1924.   He did not like to be called Walter he preferred "Ed". My wife also gave that information to me. Her twin corrected the birth year.  Marlene and I have gone out of our way to help this woman.  We have given her cell phones and appliances over the years....we have done our best to love her but nothing ever seems to be enough.   as for her comment about my doctorate...I have transcripts and a diploma if anyone needs them.  I would not use the moniker if I did not earn it...my GPA was 3.95.  and I earned ever point.  I teach now at Mid American Christian University in Ok City, Ok online.  I'm disappointed with this and may not come back...I want to thank you for fielding the question from this "family member".

Doug, My condolences on your recent loss. Please don't let this issue drive you away from Wikitree. If you are having a dispute with another family member then you can follow this process for dealing with problems with members and get mediation assistance from the team that help to resolve disputes.
