I was recently asked about Sarah Morrell Smith.  The questioner wanted to know what tribe (if any) Sarah is connected with.  I came into contact with Sarah while working on data errors in Georgia.  I've cleaned up her merged profile and added the unsourced tag.  Her original import said she was Native American and indeed the questioner has DNA testing results that confirm Native American DNA for her family.  Can someone with the Native American project take a look at this profile and determine whether she fits the project?  It would be nice to get some sources on her too.  Thanks!

I think you need to figure out who Sarah really was first. It looks like the Sarah Morrill and husband William Smith of York, Maine were born, lived, and died there, not in Georgia.

Found in the following book (available on Ancestry)

A Record of the Services of the Commissioned Officers and Enlisted Men of Kittery and Eliot, Maine, Who Served Their Country on Land and Sea in the American Revolution, From 1775 to 1783. Boston, Massachusetts: A. Mudge & Son, Printers, 1992.

SMITH, WILLIAM, Private

Enlisted or drafted, June 1, 1778 for nine months' service in the Continental Army for the town and a resident; was seventeen years old, five feet five inches tall, and belonged to the fourth company of the Twelfth Massachusetts Continental Infantry.  Enlisted or drafted, April 29, 1780, and served as a private in Capt.. T Bragdon's company of Lieut.-Col. J. Prime's battalion of Massachusetts State Troops.  Discharged, Dec. 5, 1789,

Lived in upper part of Second Parish in 1782 and 1786.  Married Sarah Morrill, Feb. 11, 1784 at Kittery, and both were residents.  Living in Eliot, July 4, 1820, aged sixty-six years, wife, Eunice, forty-six years old.  Owned no land.  A pensioner of Eliot, commenced April 1, 1818 , at ninety-six dollars a year for service as private in the Massachusetts Line, and it was continued until his death, in April, 1828, in York County, aged seventy-four years.

Other information available, census records, etc.
Wow, Kathie!  That's fabulous.  I was really surprised to see the "Native American" on her profile since she had multiple names.  Of course, the whole profile said it was sourced from an ancestry tree with another Smith's name, Captain Billy Smith.  I'd say there were some trees that were combined without sources because the names were similar.  Best Answer, Kathie!

I think the “Native American” in the bio should be removed. I see no indication that she is Native American. Kathie Forbes outlines her family tree with sources quite well. Thanks, Kathie!

Thanks Paula.  I see you've already taken care of that.  Nice notes too.
I removed it for you and saw that you’ve added the information. Good job!! I added a couple of sources.
Just one more comment, Couldn’t find an actual death info for Sarah, but she clearly died in Maine before 1820 since William had a different wife by then and he also died there and his death date is certain.  They were never in Georgia.
