Thank you. Did you find any record of him owning a hotel?
You're welcome!  I didn't look for that specifically.  The 1920 Sacramento address may have been a boarding house, based on the unrelated people staying there.  City directories might yield more info on that aspect.  Good luck!
was there any record of the golden Eagle Hotel in San Francisco?
I posted what I found.  I hope it helps you narrow your search in time and space.

yes. for sure.
I don’t know if you’re still interested.  Here’s what I know.

William and Clarissa Bennett form Henefer Utah are the parents of Evans Peter,  John Albert, Edward and Catherine Bennett. Evans Peter was my grandfather and moved from Salt Lake to Sacramento California with my Dad, Evan William Bennett, and Clarissa and Gladys, his daughters.

The family came to sac in 1925 and Evans worked as a boiler maker at the Southern Pacific Railroad (SPRR) repair shops until he died of cancer in 1946.  He died at the SPRR hospital in San Francisco.

I was told that John and his wife were already living in Sacramento when Evans arrived.  John worked for the SPRR and helped Evans secure employment there.  At the time, the SPRR was the largest employer in the area.

Awhile back I found John and wife’s address in Sacramento from around 1925.  I’ll look at the directories again and post more next week.

This is my first post and I’d like to connect with relatives and learn more about my ancestors.
